European Allergy and Asthma Center Davos (EACD)
The EACD combines the expertise and long term experience of the German high mountain hospital Davos with the allergy hospital Davos (centre for children and young people) and the Netherlands asthma centre Davos into one unique centre of competence at 1600 metres above sea level.
Since January 1st 2005 both clinics cooperate under one roof at the former German high mountain clinic Davos (Deutsche Hochgebirgsklinik Davos).
The aim of the EACD is to provide state of the art treatment of patients with bronchial asthma and COPD with relevant bronchial hyperresponsiveness as well as of patients with complex multi-organ allergy. It thus creates a unique treatment facility that optimally uses the known local environmental advantages in Davos.
The special abilities of the EACD are determined by the synergy of the following aspects:
- Combined expertise in the field of pneumological rehabilitation and Allergology.
- Proven advantages of the local environmental conditions in Davos.
- Partially overlapping, but partly complementary expertise of all three hospitals.
- Integration of new developement in basic research by cooperation with SIAF (Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Reseach, Davos).
- International charisma of an established institution with two participating nations.
- Improved possibilities for joint marketing, innovation and product development.
This results in a high medical standard with high cost-efficiency that is offered not only to German and Dutch patients but also to patients from other European states.
